The Rancho Fire: Tense Few Days

Experienced our first fire since moving to the Tehachapi Mountains. It’s the ever present threat these days in California, always lurking in the back of my mind. The Rancho Fire burned over 10,000 acres before containment and came within 2 miles of our house. Fortunately, there was very little wind and the crews kept it from creeping closer. Still, it was a tense few days and we did evacuate one night. Very relieved and thankful our home is still here. Here are some of the scenes from the fire.
